Throughout the year, we gather for special programs where families can meet new friends, celebrate Jewish holidays and have fun! See the calendar below for upcoming events. PJ Library and PJ Our Way are more than just books. PJ Library is a gift from the Jewish Community Center of Northern New Jersey thanks to the generous support of the Jewish Federation of Northern New Jersey. On the Parent Blog, parents are invited to read about each book and find suggestions for family conversations.Ĭreated by the Harold Grinspoon Foundation (HGF), PJ Library and PJ Our Way are FREE for your family because they are funded by local philanthropists, PJ Alliance Partners, and the Buffalo Jewish Federation, in partnership with HGF. From the 1st through the 10th of each month, kids can visit the PJ Our Way website to choose a book from a selection of four high-quality titles that have been reviewed by a panel of PJ educators, parents, and kids. Parents are encouraged to enroll their children in PJ Our Way at the age of 8 1/2 by clicking HERE. PJ Our Way – the next chapter of PJ Library, is for kids ages 8 3/4 – 11. We welcome everyone, regardless of eligibility, to access the PJ Library website for book suggestions, crafts and holiday celebration ideas. ![]() All families raising Jewish children are eligible to receive PJ Library books. National Design Team members have early access to PJ Our Way books and help create content for the website. ![]() Local Design Team members meet monthly to develop leadership skills and plan activities for all PJ Our Way kids. Your child can also apply to be a part of the Local and National Design Teams. Kids can also take polls and quizzes, participate in monthly interviews and challenges, and comment on blog posts, all on a safe website moderated by PJ Our Way educators. PJ Library is a program of the Harold Grinspoon Foundation in partnership with the Jewish Federation of Greater Orange County, NY. That’s 12 free books a year! To make the choice easier, every title offered comes with a synopsis and author bios, ratings and reviews, and video trailers. Every month, kids visit to choose a book from a selection of four high-quality titles that have been reviewed by a panel of PJ educators, parents, and kids. PJ Our Way TM is the next chapter in the PJ Library family, available for kids ages 8½-13 years old. Often, the focus of these events is on Israeli culture. Outside Israel, Jewish communities host parties and gatherings to celebrate. In Israel, Jewish people celebrate the day with fireworks, barbecues, and public concerts.
